iPoet.com and the Homeless Poets' Cafe
About Copyrights
iPoet.com actively asserts the legal and moral copyright status of all poets, biographers, artists, photographers, etc. I, John Lionheart, am the editor and publisher of this site, and I will never knowingly publish any written work unless a) the original author requests us to in writing or b) the work is already widely published online but not yet in the public domain, in which case I would a) either get the permission of the official publisher; or b) only use as much of the work as the "Fair Use doctrine" permits, We do however like to "twerk" over photographs, use our Paint Shop Pro to colorize and digitally enhance photos that we receive from itenerant poets or find online of already famous poets. This is our grey area here, twerking photos of famous poets that we scrounge up online. It is our understanding of copyright law that such twerking constitutes legitimate use, ie we are making a 'derivative work' of the photo, but if any photographer ever wants to complain, we'll comply, no problem.
