Bio by the author/ hyperlinks by iPoet. I'm a model citizen, lived in Berkeley since 1948.
I am a Negro, as you can see, but also, look close, you see that I am Native American as well. Good Indian Joe, GI Joe, they call me, also Cadillac Joe (the Oral Roberts Ministry once pimped me around, and gave me a used Cadillac in return), Joe the Crutch, a lot of names. The first time I got arrested, I was 16... It was for being out past ten-oclock, A curfew thing. I've been arrested lots since then. I used to fish off the Berkeley Pier in 1948 with my daddy. He worked in a steel mill in Oakland, and later on, the Post Office. My last job was working at an oil refinery, easy work. Now I do recyling with shopping carts. These pictures of me were shot at the Berkeley recycling center off Gilman. I give permission to John Lionheart to publish my story and pictures. Joe.
